How to be fully persuaded
by Victoria Thornton Have you ever found yourself frustrated that you are praying and making confessions, but nothing seems to change? Have you ever found yourself wondering why you aren't getting the results you are supposed to be getting, after all didn't Jesus say, you can have what you say? Yet, you have found that your confessions are not making a dent in getting you any closer to meeting your mate. So what's the problem?
There could be many reasons why your prayers and confessions may not be producing results and its best to ask God about it since He knows your situation. But I have found that in many cases it could be a result of one small thing.
Before I mention what I think could be the problem, take a moment and do the following:
I want you to close your eyes and think about receiving your mate. As you close your eyes pay special attention to what's going on in your mind's eye or imagination. Also I want you to pay special attention to what you are feeling in your heart.
Take a moment and do this now before reading further.
If you have done the exercise above, what did you see? What did you feel? Did you see yourself receiving your mate as something even possible? Most of us, when deciding whether or not we will receive anything from God, wrongly look at ourselves. We look at whether we think we deserve it or not or whether we are good enough to receive it or not. Depending on what’s going on inside your heart and mind may explain why you may not be getting the results you want. Before you can confess and send prayers before the Father for your mate, you must be able to clearly see what you are believing God for.
Back to the exercise above, did you see yourself as already having received your mate? Did you picture yourself as already married or did you picture yourself as still single struggling to get married? Or did you see nothing at all?
What were you feeling? When you closed your eyes did you feel a sense of hope and expectation or did you feel a sense of desperation thinking it's never going to happen? If you aren't able to see yourself as someone who has already received their mate or you feel a sense of desperation, these are signs that your faith is broken.
In Hebrews 11:1, it states, 'now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.’ If your hope is gone, then your faith has nothing to work on. Because it's the things ‘that you hoped for’ are the things that faith materializes. Hebrews 11:1 also states that your faith is the evidence of things not seen. If you closed your eyes and can’t see anything, then this could explain why your confessions aren't producing any results.
Understand that before you speak; before you can boldly declare you have received the answer to your prayer; you first have to see it inside you as already done. You’ll have to have it written in your heart and in your mind before you ever see it come to pass. The Bible says, it's with the heart man believes. If belief is absent from your heart, then this may be the reason why nothing is changing.
So in order to get the results you want, you'll have to be Like Abraham--fully persuaded that what God had promised, He is able to perform.
Rom 4:19-21 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Therefore, if you harbor any doubt in your heart, you have stopped the flow of faith from operating in your life.
So how did Abraham become persuaded to the extent that he refused to consider his and Sarah's body even though he was 100 years old? How did Abraham develop such strong faith? The Bible states in Genesis 13:16, Genesis15:5, that God helped him by getting him to imagine, to see all the children He planned to bless him with. God had Abraham looking at the dust of the field and the stars in the sky to help him form a picture of what He wanted to do.
Gen 22:17-18 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
So what has God given you to look at? What have you been seeing? What picture have you formed in your mind’s eye or imagination?
If you want your faith to begin working again, picture in your mind's eye what it would be like to be married. Live in that imagination. Write what God has promised you on the corridors of your heart and mind. And as you write it, by thinking about it, mulling over it, meditating on it and imagining it; you’ll get results. Your faith will come alive and your excitement and expectation will return as you start expecting to receive your mate again. The Holy Spirit, who before couldn't help you, now has faith to work with to bring it to pass. †
