Preparing for the Times Ahead

As this dispensation of grace winds down the Father has been preparing His people to be ready for what’s coming on the earth. No doubt He needs men like you in place to help usher in the coming of Christ. As strong men in Christ and the head of the family, you will play an important role in what God wants to do in the earth. As the backbone of your own family to come, now is the time to answer the Father’s call and prepare for what is coming to the earth.
Because before Christ returns, Jesus declared in Matthew 24, there will be upheaval that will affect everyone, everywhere. The time we are living in now, the Lord warned about wars and rumors of wars, famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes. He spoke about how nations would rise against nations and how His people would be hated for his name sake. But the Father knowing all about this has put in place ways to protect His people. The the Father’s first mode of protection is for His people to walk closely with Him, to know Him and hear His voice. Second, He wants His people to get into His Perfect Will. And third, He wants His people married.
Walking Closely with Him
The knee-jerk reaction for anyone hearing about the chaos and upheaval coming upon the earth is to prepare physically. Preparing physically is something that should be done but not without the wisdom and direction of God. And this is the reason walking closely with Him is necessary because only God in his omniscient will be best able tell you what to do in the days to come. Another reason for walking closely with God in these trying times to come is receive God’s help.
God is no stranger to helping His people when things become difficult in the earth. It was God who helped Moses and the children of Israel as they faced the red sea being fiercely chased by the Egyptian soldiers. In that situation, no amount of reasoning, negotiation, pleading with the enemy would have helped them. Only God’s direction and intervention could save them. They needed God’s help and they needed it fast. And prior to this, had not Moses invested years in hearing God’s voice they would have been destroyed. If Moses had no prior knowledge and discernment in hearing God speak and had not seen God move in other instances He and the children of Israel would have surely perished.
In addition to Moses, David would not have overcome Goliath had he not witnessed God’s power in rescuing his sheep from the bear and lion. Neither would Elijah had remained alive had he not heard God tell him to go to Zarephath when the brook dried up (I Kings 17:7).
Therefore being able to hear God’s voice is imperative for the days to come. As wars break out across the globe; as devastation takes its toll with natural disasters and the body of Christ being hunted as criminals; now is the time to get close to God for protection for you and your family. In the times to come being able to hear God’s voice will be the difference between surviving and perishing. And in order to hear God’s still small voice, walking closely with Him is a must. As you spend time in the Word, fasting and in prayer, hearing God becomes easier and easier because the more time you give to Him and His Word the easier it will be to hear Him.
Spending time in the Word tunes your spirit as does changing sparks plugs helps to tune your favorite car. And it doesn’t matter where in the bible you begin. What does matter is that you are consistent. As you develop this habit, then when you are married it will be easier to be the strong leader that your wife and children need.
Getting in His Perfect Will
A second mode of protection against the times to come is being in the perfect will of God doing whatever He is telling you to do. Being in His perfect Will is the safest place to be when things get difficult. And the reason it’s the safest place is because of the grace and umbrella of protection that is provided for ones He called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). If you doing what the Father called you to do and benefitting the kingdom of God, God will keep you. As the best players take the field in the World Series so does God need His best doing whatever He called us to do.
Being Married to the Person God Chose
And last, a third way God wants to protect you from the times to come is through marriage. God wants His people married. The Word says two are better than one. God does not want His children going through anything alone. Being alone was the original reason He provided Adam with his helpmeet. As God wants to be our protector and provider in the spirit realm He also wants us teamed up in the physical realm receiving help in the earth. God knows and understands the value of relationship. If it wasn’t important He would not have provided the first man, Adam, with Eve.
Yet along with the protection that marriage will bring, it is especially important that God’s people marry the one He chose for them. I have seen many lives destroyed when they failed to marry the person God chose for them. I have seen many lives shipwrecked as a result. Because being out the God’s Will in whom you marry could result in being out of God’s overall will for your life. It is difficult to be in the place God planned for you, doing the job and destiny God planned for you to do, if you are married to the wrong person. Because if you are married to the wrong person you are no doubt in the wrong place bogged down with problems and issues He never intended for you to experience. But with the one God chose for you, there is preparation. God knows what you will face as the earth grows darker and is working in the life of your mate to be prepared for what is to come.
In closing, take the time to spend with God to walk closely with Him so you can become the strong leader your future family will need as the earth enters its final days and Jesus Christ makes His glorious appearance.
