Getting Your Mate Back - Lesson 1
If you already know who your mate is and he or she hasn’t
aligned themselves with God’s plans, then working the principles of
faith alone will not be sufficient. When dealing with a person, you
must release your faith for their deliverance but with your faith,
you must add prayer. Since the will of God does not automatically
come to pass and since a person’s will is involved, faith alone
won’t change things. Faith in conjunction with much prayer will
bring the changes in the one you are interceding for. So here
is what you need to know
for the return of your mate:
#1 You Have to Power to Change It
In the midst of your pain; in the midst of your heartbreak you may
not realize that you have the power to change your circumstances.
You are the one God will use to restore your relationship. You are
the determining factor if whether or not you get back together. You
may feel powerless in this situation, but you aren't.
#2 God Does Not Work Alone
God will work through the person who is most in tuned with Him to
bring about restoration in your relationship. If you are at a higher
level at hearing the voice of our Father and moving with Him, then
you will be the one Father will use to restore the relationship.
If the person is not seeking God in this area then God needs your prayers to work in the person’s life. God does not work alone. Regarding this earth, God works in conjunction with man. God moves in the lives of the ones we are praying for. If you fail to pray, you tie the hands of God.
Eze 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make
up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I
should not destroy it: but I found none.
#3 God Works on the Heart
A person’s will is their own even God will not go against a person’s
will. However, God does work on the heart.
Proverbs 21:1 states,
'The king's heart is in
the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it
whithersoever he will'.
Through your prayers God can bring light to their understanding and
cause them to see the truth so they make the changes themselves. The
Bible says in
II Corinthians 4:4, ‘in whom the god of this world
hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of
the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine
unto them’.
#4 God Works from the Inside Out
If your mate is not with you, you won't be able to see God dealing
with him or her. And because God works from the inside out, you may
not see any outward evidence that God is doing anything in your
behalf. This is the time you will have to learn to trust God is
working for you whether you see anything or not.
#5 God is More than Able
Don’t try to convince the person to change on their own using your logic and prodding. What you need now is for your mate to undergo a change of heart and only God can accomplish this.
Only God can
address the issues that are sometimes hidden in you and your mate
that'll bring about reconciliation. So unless prompted by the Lord,
restrain from communicating with your mate about this subject. Your
job is to pray and allow God to do the rest. God is more than able.†
